According to this study, women are being underdiagnosed for heart disease and, as a result, are not receiving appropriate intervention in a timely manner. The study alerts both the medical establishment as well as women themselves to the fact that men are two to three itmes more likely than women to receive intervention, despite having the same risk factors for heart attack. Studies like this are important in raising awareness of the need to give greater attention to women's heart health.
